As the summer quickly approaches, the Main Line Y is gearing up for a 5k race & 1-mile youth fun run/walk. This year’s race will be held in memory of Karen Maguire, who was a dedicated, genuine and active staff member of the Main Line Y until her untimely death in 2009. As a member of the Penn Wynne community, Karen was a devoted mother as well as a physical fitness enthusiast for the Main Line Y.
The event will be filled with runners, walkers, and joggers of all ages joining together for a good cause. To register, visit the Welcome Center at the Main Line Y. The Y will distribute prizes to the overall first place finisher, as well as the first place male and female finisher and distribute medals to all age categories.
After all the participants zip through the race, everyone is welcomed to enjoy food and family fun at the Y. All children, adults and families can take part in the festivities from racing through a moon bounce obstacle course to receiving different balloon creatures. After everyone works up a sweat, the Villanove Ice Cream truck will make a special appearance to distribute ice cold treats!
