Philadelphia’s Run of the Mill String Band is an old-time southern Appalachian string band preserving and performing some of the best traditional American music around. Fiddle, banjo, guitar and upright bass comprise the usual configuration of the band sometimes mixing it up with two fiddles, fretless banjo, mandolin, banjo-mandolin, steel-guitar, banjo-guitar, and archtop guitar and some vocals. Regardless of configuration, the players strive to maintain the tradition of the music while at the same time, making it their own. Palmer Loux, Greg Loux, Paul Sidlick and Tom Schaffer have been playing together for well over twenty years and we are delighted to have them in our store. It should be a foot-stomping, hand clapping good ole’ time so join us!
