Former 76er Exposed Himself On Local Trail: Police

Doug Overton was arrested on April 30 and is facing several counts of indecent exposure

LOWER MERION, PA – Former Philadelphia 76er Doug Overton was arrested in Lower Merion Township on charges he exposed his genitals on the Cynwyd Trail, authorities said. Overton is facing three counts of indecent exposure and one count of disorderly conduct, according to court records.

Overton, 47, of Philadelphia, was charged on April 30 and released the same day on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Several witnesses told police they saw a man on April 30 on the trail with his penis exposed, according to the Delaware County Daily Times. Police were able to locate the suspect who was later identified as Overton, The Times reports.

Overton played for the 76ers from 1996 to 1998 and in 1999. He coached for St. Joseph's from 2006 to 2008.

He also played for the New Jersey Nets in 1999.

He played basketball while attending La Salle University from 1987 to 1991.

Overton is set to appear for his preliminary hearing on May 23, court records show.
