Food, Fun, Fashion at 'Taste Of Ardmore' on Thursday

Sip martinis, enjoy fabulous food, win fantastic prizes, see a fashion show and support a great cause—all is promised Thursday evening at the 3rd annual “Taste of Ardmore,” a sort of red-carpet night for small businesses in the Lower Merion Township seat.

The fundraising event brings together local restaurants and boutiques, showcasing the best of both with appetizers, entrees and desserts—and a fashion show featuring local “celebrities,” including township officials.

All-inclusive tickets are $50. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $10 to enter drawings for prizes like a 42-inch plasma television.

This year, food will be presented from , , , , , , , and others—along with wine, beer and martini bars.

The event is to support a “thriving downtown” Ardmore. —Christine Vilardo, executive director, the Ardmore Initiative.

The evening’s fashion show, which will showcase looks from favorite Ardmore boutiques, includes some very special models: don’t miss Chief  Tom Hayden, Lower Merion Commissioner Cheryl Gelber, and others. Some four-footed friends will also make an appearance on the catwalk.

“Taste of Ardmore” is the Ardmore Initiative’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

“It is a great opportunity to enjoy the best of what Ardmore has to offer,” said Christine Vilardo, the Initiative’s executive director. It’s also a chance to “have a wonderful networking opportunity and support the work of the Ardmore Initiative to create and maintain a thriving downtown.”

The event runs Thursday night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Ardmore Toyota (219 E. Lancaster Ave.).
