Go-For-The Green Award Nominations Open Through March
Help recognize a person, business, or organization that has contributed to keeping Lower Merion and Narberth green before March 31.
LOWER MERION-NARBERTH, PA — The Lower Merion and Narberth Go-for-the Green Awards nominations are open.
Lower Merion Township Environmental Advisory Council and Shade Tree Commission, and the Borough of Narberth Environmental Advisory Council and Shade Tree Commission are now taking submissions for the 2022 Go-for-the Green Awards.
The awards raise awareness of environmental issues by recognizing residents, businesses, organizations and institutions in Lower Merion Township and the Borough of Narberth for significant contributions to improve or protect the environment and its natural resources.

The deadline to nominate a person or entity the end of day, Friday, March 31.
Nominees must be residents, businesses, organizations, schools and sites in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough, or conduct business in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.

Nominations may be made with or without the knowledge of the nominees. Self nominations are accepted for all award categories.
A completed nomination application must be completed in its entirety and submitted it via email or mail along with any supporting materials (e.g., photos, videos, letters of reference or recommendation, news articles, etc.).
Applications can be emailed to EAC@lowermerion.org or mailed to Township Manager's Office, Attn: Paloma Vila, Township Sustainability Manager, Lower Merion Township, 75 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003.

This year’s Go for the Green award winners will receive special recognition at an awards ceremony to be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 15.
Below are categories:
Joseph M. Manko Lifetime Achievement Award: Presented to an individual or group that has made significant, long term contributions over length of their personal or professional lives to the environment by raising awareness or addressing important environmental issues.
Resident: Presented to an individual residing in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.
Commercial: Presented to businesses or commercial operations located in or providing services in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.
Organization: Presented to citizens groups or organizations (e.g., neighborhood groups, civics, business associations, homeowner associations, etc.) based in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.
Educational: Presented to public or private preschool and K-12 schools, teachers, staff or affiliated student or youth organizations located in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.
Institutional: Presented to nonprofit institutions (e.g., colleges, universities, affiliated student or youth organizations, religious institutions, social services, etc.) located in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough.
Green Design and Development: Presented to an organization, property owner, builder, landscape architect or designer that enhanced the outdoor experience of a site or significant improved the environment site located in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough by incorporating plantings, alternatives to impervious paving, sustainable materials or methods and other environmental improvements.
Friend of Penn’s Woods: Presented to an individual, group or organization in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough that is recognized as tree steward(s), committed to supporting healthy urban forests, working to improve and restore the tree canopy, educating about trees and tree care, or increasing awareness of the value and importance of trees in the community.
Sustainability: An individual, group or organization that has led efforts to advance sustainable solutions, natural resource conservation or climate action by raising awareness, promoting innovative sustainable practices or by taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the Township or Narberth Borough.
