
LOWER MERION, PA -- The Harriton and Bala Cynwyd Science Olympiad teams are headed to the National Science Olympiad in Wisconsin later in May, the Lower Merion Educational Foundation announced.
Harriton earned its 18th state title in the past 19 years at the PA Science Olympiad, while team members earned six gold medals and top five finishes in 22 out of 23 events, the Foundation said.
That performance earned them a state record.

The Bala Cynwyd team finished second in the state event, also qualifying for nationals.
Individuals had 17 top five finishes and three gold medals, according to the Foundation.

Science Olympiad is an international nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education.
