Historic Lower Merion Train Station Cafe, Tearoom Closes

A blowout sale is on the way.

LOWER MERION, PA -- A cafe and tearoom inside a historic building in Bala Cynwyd will close.

The Cynwyd Station, located near Bala Avenue and Conshohocken State Road, had served both train commuters and users of the new Cynwyd Heritage trail, according to a Main Line Media News report.

The store will have a final closing sale of 60-percent off this weekend from noon to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, the report states.

The owner, Sadie Francis, said she opened the shop after volunteering to clean up the train line in preparation for the Cynwyd Trail.

The building has stood since 1890. Francis opened her business in March 2014.
