I-76 Ramp In Lower Merion Closing Nightly This Week

From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the ramp from Interstate 76 to U.S 202 South/U.S. 422 West will close for pavement restoration work, PennDOT said.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – The ramp from Interstate 76 to U.S 202 South/U.S. 422 West will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 4, through Thursday, Sept. 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning in Lower Merion, as well as Upper Merion Township and West Conshohocken Borough and Township, according to PennDOT.

The closure is to accommodate pavement restoration as part of a project to repair and resurface 12.5 miles of I-76, PennDOT said.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to continue on I-76 West to Mall Boulevard, turn right on Mall Boulevard, left on North Gulph Road and right on U.S. 202 South to access U.S. 422 West.

In addition to the ramp closure, single lane closures are scheduled on I-76 in both directions between the U.S. 202 and City Avenue interchanges on Tuesday, Sept. 4, through Thursday, Sept. 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for various construction activities, PennDOT said.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.
