ARDMORE, PA — The food scene in Ardmore and the Main Line overall is always changing and expanding it seems. And a spot set to open later this year is among the most anticipated, according to a new list.

Philadelphia Magazine writer Sarah Maiellano recently wrote up a list of "The Most Anticipated Philadelphia Restaurant Openings of Early 2021."

Maiellano writes that despite numerous area restaurants closing due to the coronavirus pandemic, diners have reason to be excited about several places opening in the Philadelphia region this year.

"Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen too many beloved restaurants close their doors," she writes. "At the same time, surprising as it may seem, new eateries are opening up too. Some are takeout only, while others are planning for socially distanced indoor and outdoor dining. Here are the most promising new places opening their doors this spring."

Among the highly-anticipated new restaurants is Lola's Garden in Ardmore.

Set to open in April at 49 St Georges Road in Suburban Square, Lola's Garden will be an indoor/outdoor restaurant with a patio and beer-wine garden hybrid, taking inspiration from Harper's Garden.

Here's what Maiellano says about Lola's Garden:

Avram Hornik, Philly’s prolific restaurateur behind Morgan’s Pier and Harper’s Garden, is going suburban for the first time with this 260-seat American restaurant. Overlooking Suburban Square’s grassy courtyard, Lola’s Garden will offer something for everyone, including vegan and gluten-free fare, plus a bar full of Pennsylvania-made wine and beer. Expected to open in April.

Lola's Garden will feature 260 seats for dining and will offer views of Suburban Square's inner green courtyard.

The modern American culinary program will be chef-driven and highlight seasonal local offerings. Diners will find plenty vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu.

The beer program will feature 15 all-local Pennsylvania beers on tap, while the wine program will feature all Pennsylvania wines including wines on tap and an intimate curated bottle list.

Cocktails will be plenty, too, with 10 to 14 draft and hand-crafted to order cocktails featuring seasonal flavors and local ingredients.

Nearby, The Landing Kitchen and Lark which will open in Bala Cynwyd later this year were included on the list.
