Inquirer Food Critic Lauds Ardmore Restaurant's Chicken Wings
If you're looking for great classic chicken wings, Philadelphia Inquirer food critic Craig LaBan says this Ardmore place is just the ticket.
ARDMORE, PA — Aside from getting hands and faces covered in sauce and dealing with bones in "flats," chicken wings are a perfect finger food that also make a great main course.
And according to prolific and trusted Philadelphia Inquirer food critic Craig LaBan, an Ardmore restaurant serves some of the area's best chicken wings.
LaBan recently published a list of the area's best options for chicken wings in the Inquirer.

"Chicken wings are more than late-night food that comes glossed in buffalo sauce," he wrote. "They’re an international, year-round obsession, and Philly’s kitchens represent the full global spectrum."
LaBan provided ample options for what see says are great wings, and it was Ardmore's Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft that made the list.

"These wings get an update at Ripplewood in Ardmore: Chef Biff Gottehrer confits the sage- and spice-cured wings to tenderness in a hot schmaltz bath then crisps and glazes them to finish in the funky spice of house-fermented fresno chile hot sauce," LaBan wrote about the Rippleswood's wings.
The Ripplewood wings were listed as "classic wings," but LaBan's list includes where to get the best wing variations, such as black garlic wings, Korean fried chicken wings, buffalo wings, and more.
Ripplewood is located at 29 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.
