Lankenau Medical Center Named One Of Nation's Top 50 Hospitals

WYNNEWOOD, PA — Lankenau Medical Center has earned a high distinction during a pandemic.

Healthgrades named the Wynnewood facility among its America's 50 Best Hospitals.

Healthgrades creates annual lists of the top 50, 100 and 200 hospitals in the United States. The website is designed to help people make informed decisions before choosing a doctor or hospital.

Lankenau was also named among the 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery and the 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care.

Making the top 50 puts a hospital in the nation's top 1 percent, according to Healthgrades.

But the current list doesn't account for performance during the coronavirus pandemic.

Healthgrades analyzed the performances of nearly 4,500 hospitals using data from medical fiscal years 2017-19.

It also analyzed each hospital's performance based on 32 conditions and procedures, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis, and stroke.
