LMSD Going Asynchronous To Accommodate Staff Vaccinations
Superintendent Robert Copeland Wednesday said all schools will have asynchronous Monday due to district staffers' vaccine appointments.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — More staff members in the Lower Merion School District will be vaccinated against the coronavirus soon. But due to the number of staffers being inoculated, the district will be fully asynchronous next week.
Superintendent Robert Copeland said all schools will have asynchronous learning on Monday.
This is to accommodate the timing and number of teachers, administrators, bus drivers, instructional aides, campus aides and other support staff who will be vaccinated in the time frame.

Additionally, Copeland said the choice was made in the event that staffers experience side effects after vaccination.
"I realize that this is a rather sudden schedule change that may cause some inconvenience on Monday, but I hope you’ll agree that this opportunity to protect the health of our staff and the larger community going forward is worth the disruption," Copeland said in a letter to the community.

District staffers who have not been vaccinated will be getting the Johnson & Johson vaccine, which is a single dose vaccine.
