LMSD Students, Staffer Competing In Cooking Contest With Chefs

Best Buddies, which offers development for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is hosting "Taste Buds" event on Nov. 12.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Two Lower Merion High School students and a Bala Cynwyd Middle School staffer will be participating in cooking competition for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Students Lauren Cobitz and Georgia Callahan, along with Bala Cynwyd Middle School’s Best Buddies advisor Erin Laird, are participating in the Best Buddies "Taste Buds" event.

Taste Buds will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in King of Prussia

The students and staffer will be teamed up with professional chefs from Amis and Davios to create delicious food and compete for the title of Best Buddies Champion of the Year

Guests will enjoy food from a dozen restaurants, an open bar, and silent auction while raising money to support the Best Buddies program.

Admission costs $75 and VIP entry is available for $125. Get tickets online here.

Best Buddies provides programs of friendship, inclusion and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The DoubleTree by Hilton is located at 301 West Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia.
