LMSD, Teachers Union Reach Tentative Contract Agreement
The Lower Merion School District and Lower Merion Education Association have reached a tentative, four-year contract agreement.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — A tentative, four-year contract has been reached between the Lower Merion Board of School Directors and the leadership of the Lower Merion Education Association, the district said.
Both sides agreed to a new four-year contract that will be effective July 1, 2020.
According to the district, the agreement was reached swiftly, amicably and ahead of schedule.

The LMEA represents 1411 LMSD professional staff members. Its membership voted Monday afternoon and evening, and the school board voted at Monday's meeting.
"The contract recognizes and rewards the excellence of our staff and is attentive to the fiscal realities of the District and its taxpayers," the district said. "This agreement facilitates the District’s ability to accurately forecast budgetary needs for compensation and provides peace of mind for staff, as our District continues to take on additional projects, such as building a new middle school, to meet the challenges of our increasing enrollment."
