Local Police Partnering With DEA for Drug Take Back Day
The drug collection will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

This weekend, local police departments in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration are giving the public a chance to dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
The drug collection take back will be held Saturday at dozens of locations in the region, including Phoenixville Borough and Tredyffrin Township nearby.
Drugs can be dropped off any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at Phoenixville Borough Hall, 351 Bridge St. in Phoenixville; or the Tredyffrin Township Building, 1100 Duportail Road in Berwyn.

Pills and patches will be accepted, but the DEA does not take liquids or needles. The service is free and anonymous, and no questions will be asked.
Last April, Americans turned in 390 tons of prescription drugs at nearly 6,100 sites operated by the DEA and its state and local law-enforcement partners.

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet, the DEA said.
