Longtime Lower Merion Police Detective Retires

Detective Lieutenant Christopher Polo has retired after more than 30 years of service in the Lower Merion Township community.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — A longtime member of the Lower Merion Township Police Department has retired.

The Lower Merion FOP Lodge 28 announced Detective Lieutenant Christopher Polo's retirement.

Polo spent more than 30 years serving the community of Lower Merion Township, according to the union.

"As one of the most respected and well-liked members of the police department, Brother Polo rose from a patrolman in Three Squad, a Field Training Officer, and part of the Emergency Response Team to Patrol Sergeant," the union said. "Due to his dedication and accident reconstruction abilities, he became sergeant of our Traffic Safety Unit. After an outstanding stint in TSU, Chris was promoted to Lieutenant and returned to Patrol. He eventually was placed in charge of our outstanding Detective Unit where he completed his service. The LMPD and LMT will definitely not be the same without Lieutenant Polo. We thank you for your years of service and dedication. We truly wish you the healthiest, safest and most enjoyable retirement. God speed Brother."
