Lower Merion Chooses Name For New Middle School
The new school under construction will officially be called Black Rock Middle School and is set to open in September 2022.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion School District's new middle school has a name.
The school board Monday night approved to call the new school Black Rock Middle School.
According to the district, the name was chosen for its connection to the distinctive serpentine formation of black rocks in the area, which were noted by the indigenous Lenni Lenape in what is now Lower Merion Township.
