Lower Merion Considering $15 Minimum Wage For Employees
Most township employees who currently make under $15 an hour are part-time, and work for the libraries or the parks department.
LOWER MERION TWP., PA — Commissioners and staff in Lower Merion are considering a $15 minimum wage for township employees.
Members of the finance committee discussed the issue at an October 6 meeting, township documents show. Township officials are working on the budget for next year; the budget is expected to be released next month, according to the Main Line Times & Suburban.
In the township, almost all positions make at least $10 an hour, according to a presentation made at the Oct. 6 meeting. Some part-time positions make $15 an hour or more.
