Lower Merion Coronavirus Cases Surpass 300, No New Deaths

Lower Merion still has the most cases of any Montgomery County as more than 300 people in the township now have the new coronavirus.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Coronavirus cases have exceeded 300 in Lower Merion Township, according to data provided Thursday.

Montgomery Count data shows Lower Merion now has 302 cases.

Lower Merion still has the highest case count of any Montgomery County municipality. Montco as of Thursday has 3,212 cases.

The county reported three more cases in the township Thursday, up from 299 cases reported Wednesday.

The cases in Lower Merion are nearly evenly split among men and women: 150 men have the virus and 151 women have the virus, one case has not had the patient's gender identified.

Age breakdowns of the 302 cases in the township is below:

  • 0 to 9 — 3
  • 10 to 19 — 12
  • 29 to 29 — 29
  • 30 to 39 — 41
  • 40 to 49 — 26
  • 5o to 59 — 45
  • 60 to 69 — 50
  • 70 to 79 — 33
  • 80 to 89 — 37
  • 90 and older — 26

The average age of coronavirus patients in Lower Merion is 50.

Luckily, no additional deaths have been reported in Lower Merion since at least April 19.

Six of the victims were in their 80s and two were in their 60s.

Countywide, 179 people have died from the virus.

Springfield has seen the most deaths with 35 to date.

Nearby in Narberth, just 14 cases have been identified.
