LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — More than 580 people have been infected by the coronavirus and more than 80 have died from it in Lower Merion Township, according to the most recent date provided by Montgomery County.
New data released Friday shows 583 people in Lower Merion have been infected by the virus, the second most in Montgomery County behind Norristown, which has 981.

Of the 580 cases, 324 are women and 259 are men.

Overall, Montgomery County has 7,756 cases.
Lower Merion as of Friday has had 83 coronavirus deaths.
Of the 83 deaths, one person was in their 40s, one person was in their 50s, four were in their 60s, 10 were in their 70s, 39 were in their 80s, and 29 were 90 and above.
Forty-eight of the deaths were women, and 35 were men.
Lower Merion has the second highest death count in the county; Springfield has the most with 87.
The county has seen 768 deaths to date.
