Lower Merion Coronavirus Deaths Reach 60, Cases Top 520

New data from Montgomery County shows the coronavirus has taken 60 Lower Merion residents' lives to date.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The coronavirus has killed five dozen Lower Merion Township residents, according to data provided by Montgomery County Friday.

New data released Friday shows 60 people in Lower Merion have died from the virus.

Of the 60 deaths, one person was in their 40s, four were in their 60s, five were in their 70s, 30 were in their 80s, and 20 were 90 and above.

Thirty-five of the deaths were women, and 25 were men.

Lower Merion has the second highest death count in the county; Springfield has the most with 76.

The county has seen 566 deaths to date.

As of Friday, Lower Merion now has 524 cases of the virus, the most in any Montgomery County municipality.

  • 10 to 19 — 19
  • 20 to 29 — 39
  • 30 to 39 — 60
  • 40 to 49 — 52
  • 50 to 59 — 65
  • 60 to 69 — 73
  • 70 to 79 — 51
  • 80 to 89 — 95
  • 90 and older — 60

Of the 524 cases, 238 are men and 285 are women.

Nearby, Narberth has only 17 cases and no deaths.

Overall, Montgomery County has 6,312 cases.
