Lower Merion Elementary Prepares To Expand: Report
Several options, one of which includes demolition, are being considered.

LOWER MERION, PA -- A Lower Merion elementary school is nearing approval of a final plan for expansion.
Penn Wynne Elementary School will have a final decision and plan within two months, according to a report.
Three possible expansion outlines were laid out at the most recent Board of School Directors meeting, the report states.

Two of the plans, plan 1a and Plan 1b, are nearly identical, and include adding six classrooms to the back of the school, according to the report.
The third plan, "Option 2," would involve the demolition of the 1949 wing and the creation of an additional 12 new classrooms and auxiliary gym, Main Line Media News reports.

The rest of the school, which was built in 1932, is considered a historic resource by Lower Merion Township.
