Lower Merion Fire Dept Members Win Barbecue Competition
Weber's Backyard BBQ, of the Lower Merion Fire Department, was crowned Grand Champion at Crime Victims' Center of Chester County event.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The barbecue masters who are members of the Lower Merion Fire Department recently took home the top prize at barbecue competition in West Chester.
The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc. on Sept. 11 hosted a barbecue-style competition featuring numerous teams made of first responders.
Teams showcased their best barbecue in the categories of pulled pork, chicken, ribs, wings, and a specialty item.

At the end of the day, Weber’s Backyard BBQ, of the Lower Merion Fire Department, won the top trophy for the day as the Grand Champion.
Road Dawgs, of the Pennsylvania State Police, won the People’s Choice Award.

Judges for the event included police and fire chiefs from around Chester County.
Attendees paid just $20 to sample food from all the competing teams, enjoyed live music by Kevin Windstein, a display of local fire trucks and equipment, and participated in raffles for a chance to win barbecue-themed prizes.
Proceeds from the competition benefited Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc.
