Lower Merion Gets Interim Ward 3 Commissioner

The Lower Merion Township Commissioners voted to appoint Michael McKeon as Paul McElhaney's replacement at Wednesday's meeting.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – After Lower Merion Township's Ward 3 Commissioner Paul McElhaney was appointed as the assistant director of public works in the township and had to vacate his seat, a new leader for the third ward was needed.

And on Wednesday night, the Lower Merion Township Commissioners voted to appoint Michael McKeon as McElhaney's replacement.

Of the 12 votes cast at Wednesday's meeting, nine were for McKeon.

David Kedson and Bill Cook were also nominated for the Ward 3 seat, but ultimately it was McKeon who was chosen.

McElhaney's term has two years left on it, so McKeon will serve as the Ward 3 commissioner for the remainder of the term.

McKeon, attorney, is a three-year resident of Ward 3 and has lived all over the township throughout his life.
