Lower Merion High School is among the top-rated public high schools in Philadelphia and its suburbs, according to a new ranking.
ARDMORE, PA — Lower Merion High School is among the top-rated public high schools in Philadelphia and its suburbs, according to a new ranking released this week by Philadelphia Magazine.
The magazine used data from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey departments of education and the National Center for Education Statistics to compile the 40 Top-Rated Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs.
Factors such as enrollment, student-teacher ratio, SAT scores, and students who go on to attend college were considered. You can read Philadelphia Magazine's full methodology used when drafting the list here.

According to the magazine's summary, Lower Merion High School's student enrollment is 1,532. The graduation percentage is 98 percent, and of those, 93 percent go on to college. The school's student-teacher ratio is 12:1. The average SAT scores are 622/624 (verbal/math).
Six Montgomery County schools were on Philly Mag's list. Harriton High School was also featured on the list.
