Lower Merion Hosting Clean Up Weekend Oct. 14, Oct. 15

Township residents can get rid of trash and recyclables for free this weekend at the Lower Merion Public Works Complex.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Lower Merion Township wants to help you keep your home tidy by hosting a free clean up weekend for township residents.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15 at the Lower Merion Pubic Works Complex, you can dispose of garbage and recyclables free of charge.

Items accepted include household appliances, textiles, plastic, glass, newsprint, and regular refuse.

All recyclables must be separated from trash when dropping items off. Lower Merion Township crews will be on hand to help resident unload their vehicles.

Household hazardous items will not be accepted during this clean up weekend. A collection event for those types of items will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, the township said.

To use the weekend's service, you must show a proof of residence in Lower Merion Township. Showing a driver's license is the best way to do so.

Additionally during the clean up weekend, area non-profits Harmonious Volunteer Center will collect furniture, toys, clothing while Neighborhood Bike Works will collect bicycles at the complex.

The public works complex is located at 1300 N. Woodbine Ave., Penn Valley.
