Lower Merion HS Switches To New Grading Scale
Lower Merion School District report cards will look a little different during the upcoming school year.

LOWER MERION, PA — Lower Merion School District report cards will look a little different during the upcoming school year.
The district will revert to the ten-point grading scale utilized by many neighboring districts, they announced.
Students will now earn an "A" for 90-100, "B" for 80-90, and "C" for 70-80.

"It should be noted that changing the grading scale is a 'technical' change prompted in large part by the community's desire to ensure that LMSD students are not disadvantaged in the college admissions process," said Scott Eveslage, Assistant Superintendent. "We do not, however, view this change as grading and assessment 'reform.'"
School officials stated that this would not change their standards, but merely the way which they recorded grades. They determined that there was "no benefit" to maintaining the old system.
