Lower Merion Joins County Drug Take Back Day Oct. 28

ARDMORE, PA — As part of a county-wide effort to eliminate potentially dangerous medications from falling into the wrong hands, Lower Merion Township Police are joining Montgomery County's "Tales From the Script" drug take back day in late October.
LMPD will be part of the county-wide effort that will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28.
Other police departments across Montco will join the effort, which is organized by the District Attorney's Office, as well. A full list is available below.

The following medications will be accepted:
- Prescription tablets and capsules
- Over-the-counter tablets and capsules
- Liquid medications
- Inhalers
- Creams and ointments
- Nasal sprays
- Pet medications
The prescription pills that contribute to or lead directly to addiction have often been traveling for many years to come to that point. In fact, according to authorities, unused or expired prescription medications lingering in homes are one of the leading contributors to addiction.

In addition to helping fight addiction, safe and proper disposal of prescription medications helps fight pollution, officials said. Flushing medicine down the toilet is not safe.
