Lower Merion School District Celebreating MLK Day With Community Service Projects

Read on to see some of the service projects you can take on to help your community.

Lower Merion School District will celebrate the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the annual “MLK Afternoon of Service” on Jan. 13, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Harriton High School cafeteria, the district said.

The annual celebration of King's life and work includes service projects to help the community.

There will be a book collection, snack packaging for the Ronald McDonald House, crafts for nursing homes and senior living centers, pet supply collections and more, according to the district.

The afternoon will include live performances and music; snacks and refreshments available for purchase; kid-friendly crafts; and games for all ages, the district said.
