Lower Merion School District Inclement Weather Information

With a snowstorm in the forecast, here's what you need to know about early dismissal, delayed openings and snow days.

LOWER MERION, PA -- With talk of a potentially significant winter storm headed for the Mid-Atlantic this week, here’s a look at the Lower Merion School District’s snow day provisions and inclement weather procedures:

The last day of school is tentatively scheduled for June 20.

If the district needs extra snow days, the days could be added to the end of the school year calendar, the school calendar says.

If there is a delayed opening, schools will open two hours late.

Inclement weather announcements will be made by KYW 1060AM. Lower Merion’s closing number is 302.

The District’s automated messaging system may also be utilized. A voicemail and email message will be sent to emergency contact phone numbers provided by parents at the start of the current school year. The phone messaging system will only be used when weather-related announcements can be made before 10 PM and after 8 AM, unless advised otherwise.
