Lower Merion Schools Collecting Books For Children

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion School District next month will be collecting books for local kids.

The district is hosting a "Martin Luther King Day Children's Book Drive" as part of the annual celebration of the life and work of King.

From Jan. 3 to Jan. 7, books can be dropped off at Penn Valley and Penn Wynne elementary schools, Penn Valley and Welsh Valley middle schools, and Lower Merion and Harriton high schools.

All books collected will be given to children whose parents/guardians attend the MLK Day of Service Signature Project at Girard College.

The project is a community health fair with vaccines, testing and information about public health resources.
