Lower Merion Schools Hosting Student, School Safety Presentation

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – The Lower Merion School District is hosting a presentation on student safety and school security amid growing concerns about tragic shootings at schools.

The district's Interschool Council (ISC) is inviting the community to an upcoming Hot Topic event.

From 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, the ISC will host the presentation titled "More Than Just 'Run, Hide, Fight'" in the Academy Building, adjacent to Bala Cynwyd Middle School.

Dr. Adil Nure, the district's Lead Supervisor of Clinical Services & Gifted Education; Terry Quinlan-Clampffe MEd, MA, RN, CSN, Lead Supervisor of School Health and Student Safety; and Rich Marta, Supervisor of K-12 Counseling, Testing & Holistic Supports, will speak at the event.

Attendees will learn about the district's enhanced security measures – including staffing, facility-planning and related equipment, and mental health resources – and other ways it is protecting students, faculty, and staff.
