Lower Merion SD Hosting Community Sessions On Sleep, Start Times

The district is hosting four Community Listening Sessions on sleep and school start times after getting a recommendation to make changes.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion School District community is invited to weigh in on student sleep and school start times.

A presentation on sleep and school start times was give at a special Board of School Directors Thursday last week.

The presentation included a recommendation to make middle school and high school start later, and elementary school start earlier, beginning in September 2020.

Now, the district wants you to join the discussion at several Community Listening Sessions.

  1. Dec. 8, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Academy Building (adjacent to Bala Cynwyd Middle School) - 510 Bryn Mawr Ave. in Bala Cynwyd
  2. Dec. 9, 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the District Administration Offices Board Room - 301 E. Montgomery Ave. in Ardmore
  3. Dec. 9, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Harriton High School's Large Group Instruction (LGI) Room - 600 N. Ithan Ave. in Rosemont
  4. Dec. 17, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Lower Merion High School's Large Group Instruction (LGI) Room - 315 E. Montgomery Ave. in Ardmore

In addition, community members are invited to share their input via email to Sleep@lmsd.org. The Board will consider this input prior to voting in the spring.
