The awards were given to individuals and organizations for their remarkable leadership to improving transportation and infrastructure in the region.

"I am surprised, humbled and honored to be selected for this prestigious Peter. P. Quinn Leadership Award," McNeely said. "I have tried to be a good board member serving GVF and that to me means showing up, contributing and most importantly believing in the mission. I truly believe in the mission and purpose of GVF, we cannot reasonably expect to build new roads in this region adequate to address congestion nor can we reduce impacts on our environment by adding more vehicle trips. So, we must concentrate our efforts on transportation demand management, mass transit and alternative means of transportation all of which are reflected in the mission of GVF. I thank GVF for this unexpected honor!"

Dr. Valerie Arkoosh, Chair of Montgomery County Commissioners, also received the Legislative Leadership Award at the meeting.
