Lower Merion To Vote On 2022 Budget Wednesday

If the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners approve the budget Wednesday, residents will not see a hike in their real estate taxes.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners Wednesday will vote on the proposed 2022 budget.

A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Residents can attend the meeting in person and can also join virtually by contacting Lower Merion Township Secretary Jody Kelley at 610-645-6145 or publiccomment@lowermerion.org before noon on the day of the meeting.

Public comments can be sent via email to publiccomment@lowermerion.org, by postal mail addressed to Board of Commissioners, 75 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003, or by phone to 610-645-6145. Comments will be accepted until noon the day of the meeting.

There is no real estate tax increase in the 2022 budget, and should the budget pass it will mark 11 years of no real estate tax hikes in the township budget.

Solid waste fees and sanitary sewer fees are not anticipated to increase, as well.

Revenues for 2022 are expected to be $65,092,300, and expenditures are projected at $71,616,339.

That gap, $6,524,039, requires a planned budgeted drawdown of fund balance to balance operating revenue with expenditures.
