Luxury European Spa Experiences Await You On The Main Line

ARDMORE, PA — Main Liners in need of some TLC, pampering, relief, and more can get just that at Ardmore's Cure de Repos.

Cure de Repos in Ardmore opened in November 2024 and is the business's second location. Owner Chrissy Dress opened the original location at 8439 Germantown Ave. in Philadelphia's Chestnut Hill neighborhood about 10 years ago.

The Ardmore outpost, 65 Cricket Ave. Unit 105, offers everything you'd find at a European luxury spa.

Services include massages, facials, waxing, brow and lash treatments, such as waxing, tinting, and lamination.

"What really sets us apart from everyone else is the customer service," spa director and manager Elle Mannion told Patch. "It's your experience when you come in. You're not just coming in for the facial. When you come in, we're going to greet you, and we will have tea and water for you."

Clients who visit Cure de Repos for one-hour services also get complimentary use of the spa's sauna and the cold plunge.

Staffers at Cure de Repos are very carefully chosen, as well, Mannion said.

"[Dress] is very, very particular with who she hires in all aspects of her business," she said.

From front of house to the managers, estheticians to massage therapists, all employees at Cure de Repos have experience in their fields.

"We're not hiring anyone who is fresh out of school," she said. "Everyone that we have working with us has several years of experience in the industry already."

And, on top of any previous experience employees may have, Dress personally trains them when they are hired.

"We teach them how we do things, what we expect, and what the clients are expecting," Mannion said. "We want you to come in and just forget about the outside world for a couple of hours, you know?"

When booking, clients can choose specific staff members based on their wants and needs. Each staff member also has their own biography and specialities listed on the Cure de Repos website, making selection even more personal for clients.

Cure de Repos also employs male and female massage therapists to provide an extra level of comfort when getting massage treatments.

One new offering at the Ardmore location is head spa services.

Mannion likened the service to going to a hairdresser.

"It's kind of like a unit at a hairdresser's," she said. "But as well as having that shower attachment, it's got this kind of arch through which water flows. We can control the arch so it's going to hit different areas of the head."

While Cure de Repos doesn't do true couples massages, where both clients are in the same room, they can do them at the same time in different rooms.

Cure de Repos also offers packages put together for sauna use.

"If it's something that you want to come and do three times a week, it's going to greatly reduce the price for you," Mannion said.

Additionally, the business is putting together some bridal packages. Mannion said clients will be able to book services three, six, and 12 months ahead of their wedding dates.

"We have various services combined that are really going to get you ready for the wedding," she said.

Private events are also available for booking at Cure de Repos.

"We're willing tostay open late or open on days that we would typically be closed if the party's big enough and we have enough notice," she said. "If people are looking for like a small, intimate space, a place to host a little fundraiser or something, we are open to working with people and allowing them to use the space as well."

Cure de Repos will also run special occasions. For example, over Christmas, those who purchased four services got a fifth service for free.

Cleanliness is paramount at Cure de Repos, Mannion said.

"We're constantly cleaning," she said. "For the service providers, the estheticians in particular, there are legal requirements that we have to meet."

All laundry services are done in-house, as well.

"I mean, personally, I wouldn't want to walk into somewhere like this where I'm about to pay for a facial and see stuff on the floor," she said. "Because if we're not taking care of that, what else aren't we taking care of? We're dealing with people's faces and large amounts of money; they want to feel confident and secure when they come. We make sure that they do."
