This year's effort is the fifth time the Walkathon has supported Rise Against Hunger.
The event was held as part of the school’s annual commemoration of Mercy Day, the anniversary of the day when Catherine McAuley opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin in 1827. Mercy Day is commemorated throughout the world at Mercy schools, medical facilities, and myriad other ministries.
“This experience helps our students see that they can be people of Mercy not just for their
school or the greater Philadelphia area, but for those around the world,” said Greg Soltis,
Director of Outreach and Religious Education.
