Man Nearly Ran Over Child, Made Threats Against Jews In Merion: Cops

Lower Merion police said they were "taking the threat seriously."

A man allegedly nearly ran over his child while carelessly driving and then made threats against Jewish people during an ensuing confrontation, according to a Lower Merion Township press release.

Police responded to the incident at 9 p.m. on Saturday evening, December 5, at The Dairy Cafe in Merion.

Witnesses reported that a man had “carelessly” entered the parking lot, nearly running over his own child.

At least one witness got into a verbal altercation with the driver, during which he allegedly made threats and said hateful things about Jewish people, police said.

The driver, when questioned, said he had gotten into an argument but denied that he had many any threats or said anything about Jewish people, according to police.
