Man Rescued From Flooded Car In Ardmore Wednesday

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore rescued a man from a vehicle that was being flooded in Ardmore early Wednesday evening.

ARDMORE, PA — Crews from the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore conducted a water rescued in Ardmore.

At about 5:27 p.m., the fire company was called to Simpson and East County Line roads for a report of a water rescue with a man inside a vehicle.

The fire company said the vehicle was filling up with water and the mane was trying to climb onto the vehicle's roof.

Firefighters talked to the man as the rescue was underway to keep him calm.

Crews were able to get a rope to the car and send out a flotation vest that he was able to use, the fire company said.

At the same time, a ladder truck operated arrived and was setting up the main ladder and extended it to the hood of the car.

Two firefighters went out the fully extended ladder, and one tied a safety line to the end fly.

The two were able to get the victim onto the end fly and down to safety, the fire company said.
