Months-Long Closure Hitting Wynnewood Road Bridge June 4
Lower Merion Township said the road will close for six months starting June 4 as part of PennDOT's Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

WYNNEWOOD, PA – The bridge carrying Wynnewood Road over the East Branch of Indian Creek will close for six months as part of PennDOT's Rapid Bridge Replacement Project starting in June, according to Lower Merion Township.
Beginning Monday, June 4, the road will close to accommodate the bridge project and drivers will be detoured during the work.
Motorists will be detoured to Lancaster Avenue/U.S. 30 and City Avenue/U.S. 1 while work is ongoing.

Residents on Woodside Avenue in Narberth Borough will be detoured around the bridge along Maple and Chestnut avenues, the township said.
Residents of Parkview Drive in Wynnewood will follow a detour along Clover Hill and Williams roads, according to the township.

The project should be complete by the end of 2018, however in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen reasons the work schedule may change.
The Wynnewood Road bridge averages more than 9,300 daily vehicles and was built in 1934. The single-span concrete, solid-slab bridge will be replaced with a new single-span culvert, the township said.
