More Than 630 Coronavirus Cases Identified In Lower Merion

Lower Merion Township has the second highest number of cases in the county, as well as the second highest number of deaths in the county.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — With the highest single day number of coronavirus cases reported in Pennsylvania in two months, Lower Merion Township cases has surpassed 630.

According to data provided Friday, Lower Merion Township has seen 631 cases to date.

Of those cases, 350 are women and 280 are men. The gender for one case has not been identified.

Below are case counts by age range in Lower Merion:

  • 0 to 9 — 10
  • 10 to 19 — 30
  • 20 to 29 — 60
  • 30 to 39 — 64
  • 40 to 49 — 71
  • 50 to 59 — 75
  • 60 to 69 — 85
  • 70 to 79 — 58
  • 80 to 89 — 106
  • 90 and older — 72

The average of Lower Merion residents with the virus is about 59.

Lower Merion has the second highest concentration of coronavirus cases of all Montgomery County municipalities. Norrsitown Borough has the most cases with 1,086.

Nearby in Narberth Borough, just 23 cases have been reported since the start of the epidemic. The borough has also seen no virus-related deaths.

Montgomery County, as of Friday, has 8,689 cases.

In addition to having the second highest number of cases, Lower Merion has the second highest number of deaths.

Friday's data shows 84 people in Lower Merion have died from the virus. Springfield Township has the highest number of deaths with 89.

Of Lower Merion's 84 deaths, 49 have been women and 35 have been men.

Additionally, one person was in their 40s, one person was in their 50s, four were in their 60s, 10 were in their 70s, 40 were in their 80s, and 28 were 90 and above.

The county has seen a total of 810 deaths related to the virus.
