Nearly 3,500 Pounds Of Food Donated By Lower Merion
The food was collected to support Preston and Steve's annual Campout for Hunger event.
LOWER MERION, PA — Nearly 3,500 pounds of food was donated to the annual Campout for Hunger drive by WMMR's Preston and Steve thanks to effort by Lower Merion Township.
Lower Merion Police said during November, members of the public, township employees, and emergency responders all pitched in to contribute to the charitable effort.
In total, 3,442 pounds of food was donated to the drive.

Lower Merion Police collected 821 pounds.
The Lower Merion Fire Department and its companies, Narberth EMS, Lower Merion Fire Marshal's Office, the Lower Merion Professional Firefighters Association, and the Lower Merion Friends of Police brought in an additional 2,621 pounds.

The drive collects food for Philadelphia's food charity Philabundance, which provides food for hungry Philadelphians in need.
