Nearly 90 Lower Merion Township Roads Still Reeling From Storm

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Lower Merion Township provided updates on more than 80 township roads affected by various impacts from the recent nor'easter that plagued the area over the weekend. A full list of affected road and their statuses is included below.

As of 7 p.m., more than 3,500 customers in Lower Merion Township are without power. Nearly 13,000 Montgomery County customers are without power still according to PECO.

The Gladwyne and Penn Wynne Fire Houses are open as warming/charging stations, the township said. However Gladwyne does not have internet access.

The Gladwyne fire house is open 24 hours and the Penn Wynne from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All Lower Merion Township Libraries are open today and available for charging phones and use of internet, as well the township said.

"Public Work crews and Police continue to coordinate with PECO to clear power lines and open roads," the township said in its update sent out Monday afternoon. "It is still not possible at this time to estimate when all customers will see their power restored."

According to the township, Montgomery Avenue was re-opened between Spring Mill Road and Matson Ford Road.

North Ithan Avenue is still blocked north of Old Gulph Road, the township said.

The large tree has been moved, however wires still block the road.

The township reminds driver they are required by law to stop at any intersection where the traffic signal is not working and treat it like a four-way stop sign.
