New Brew Pub Opens On Main Line, Serving Latin Food

A unique new brewery serving acclaimed microbrews and Latin-inspired dishes has opened on the Main Line.

TREDYFFRIN, PA -- A unique new brewery serving acclaimed microbrews and Latin-inspired dishes has opened in Berwyn.

La Cabra Brewing, located on 642 Lancaster Avenue in Berwyn, is the product of Malvern native Dan Popernack. He's been brewing beers under the La Cabra label since 2011.

Their mission statement reads "La Cabra Brewing focuses on fresh, small batch, artisanal beer with an emphasis on seasonality and occasionality. Our goal is to provide a unique and delicious experience for every guest to our brewpub."

La Cabra's official opening was on Tuesday afternoon.

  • Delphi Belgian Pale
  • Brettophile (All brett golden ale)
  • Doña Gloria (barrel aged strong dark Belgian)
  • Capricorn (Black IPA)
  • Ave Harina (Saison with ginger, star anise, and lemon peel)

La Cabra is markedly different from most gastropubs, in that their food offerings are Latin-inspired, rather than traditional American fare.

The brewery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. They are closed Mondays.
