New Veteran-Owned Beer Shop Open In Ardmore: See Inside
Navy veteran Jim Martin, of Wynnewood, is the owner and operator of Lower Merion Beverage Co., Ardmore's newest spot to pick up brews.

ARDMORE, PA — A new place to grab some beers is up and running in Ardmore, and its owned and operated by a veteran of the Navy.
Jim Martin recently opened Lower Merion Beverage Co. at 50 Greenfield Ave., Suite 56C in Ardmore.
Martin, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy who served 10 years in the U.S. Navy before earning his MBA at Villanova, chose the slogan "Keep It Local" for the new business. In keeping with that slogan, he has tapped into a local team of employees with vast expertise in the ever-growing beer industry and filled his store with an array of local brews, hard ciders and seltzers, as well as traditional favorites and offerings from around the world.

Beverages are sold in every size from mix-and-match cans to cases, crowlers, growlers, and kegs.
Lower Merion Beverage has a different feel than other older beer distributors.

The shop has high ceilings, wide aisles, and features a huge wooden bar for samples of local and seasonal brews. The shop is decorated with local sports banners and includes a big screen TV, so customers can keep up on local sports teams while they browse or chat about the latest trends in malt beverages.
It also features reserved parking spots.
For those who need assistance carrying their purchases to their vehicles, help is always available.
Martin, who lives in Wynnewood with his wife Kerry and their two daughters, is a former Comcast employee who during the pandemic finally made the move he’d imagined for years from the corporate world to small business ownership.

The shop is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
