PA High School Athletic Ranks: Lower Merion High School

ARDMORE, PA — Niche.com’s rankings for best high schools for athletes are out, and the results are good for Lower Merion High School.

The school was ranked the best high school for athletes in Pennsylvania. Other local schools that were ranked well include Coatesville (4th), Harriton (5th), Spring-Ford (6th), Conestoga (7th), and Radnor (9th).

Niche gave Lower Merion HS, which offers 30 sports for its students, an "A+" grade in sports. You can see the full Lower Merion HS report card from Niche here.

The ranking takes five factors into account, including a parent/student survey on school sports, the number of sports offered, the participation of girls, and, separately, the participation of boys, and expenses per student. Data is collected from Niche.com users, the National Center for Education Statistics, and the Civil Rights Data Collection service.

The number one ranked school in the nation was Illinois’ Adlai E. Stevenson High School.
