Philly Icon Patti Labelle Donates Pies To Lower Merion Police
If you were unaware, the "Godmother of Soul" sells pies, and her pies are keeping the members of the Lower Merion Police Department going.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Philadelphia region is home to many superstars. From actors, to sports stars, to singers, we've got plenty of celebrity credit.
And one of the most famous Philadlephians has lent support to the member of Lower Merion's police force as they keep their community safe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"Godmother of Soul" Patti Labelle is know for her vocal chops. But she also has her own line of sweet potato pies.

On Thursday, the Lower Merion Police Department was sent three cases of individual pies.
"Oh Patti LaBelle, (Lady Marmalade herself) you have spoiled us rotten and we have a "New Attitude," police said on Facebook. "We all know you have THE BEST PIES EVER! Thank you for sending over 3 cases of individual pies to our #LMPD officers."

According to NPR, Labelle's pies made their debut on Walmart shelves in 2015.
