Police Seeking Wynnewood Purse Thief
Police said the person seen here is wanted in connection with purse thefts in Wynnewood and in Haverford Township.
WYNNEWOOD, PA — Lower Merion Police are asking for help identifying a theft suspect who stole a purse while in a Wynnewood store.
According to police, the person above stole a purse while in the Wynnewood Giant at about 3:58 p.m. on Oct. 9.
The person above was seen on surveillance video approaching the victim’s shopping cart in the parking lot, taking the victim’s purse, and then walking east through the lot toward Cloverhill Road, and then out of the camera's view.

Lower Merion Police said police in Haverford Township reported six similar thefts of purses, all at supermarkets since Sept. 26.
The suspect in each incident is a person dressed in a full burka with their face covered.

Police said the vehicle driven by the suspect is a white Cadillac SUV with a ZLP5951 Pennsylvania license plate that is listed as stolen. According to police, the occupants were seen switching out the license plate at a nearby store after the theft.
