Racial Slur Found On St Joe's Dorm Door: Report
The university's student newspaper reports a slur aimed at black people was found on the door of an African American student's dorm room.

A case of racism is being investigated at St. Joseph's University after a racial slur was found in a university dorm.
The school's student newspaper, The Hawk, reports a slur aimed to black people was found on a dorm room door's message board in September.
According to The Hawk, a female student who is African American found the word "coons" on her dorm door message board.

In October, the university sat the female student down with the student who left the message for an apology. The student in question is a white male, according to the paper.
The female student and her roommate were unaware of the racism associated with the term up until the spoke about the incident with friends.

According to the Hawk, the two targets of the slur now feel "discomfort and fear" at their school.
"If he calls me that word, what else is he capable of," one of the students said in an interview with the Hawk. "It makes me feel unsafe being in my room knowing that he’s there."
The Hawk reports the student who left the message is still enrolled at the university.
