Rash of Burglaries and Thefts Reported in Wynnewood and Ardmore
A wide range of crimes were reported in the area the week of Sept. 13.

Despite the capture of one burglary suspect, the week of Sept. 13 was dotted with burglaries and thefts throughout Ardmore and Wynnewood.
A total of eight incidents were reported to the Lower Merion Police, varying in degree from forced entries in broad daylight to missing bikes and wallets. Police continue to warn residents to take precautions and report any suspicious activity.

Along with petty cash taken from Penn Wynne Presbyterian Church, according to police, a second attempted burglary was made on Monday, Sept. 13, at the Congregation Beth Hamedro synagogue on 200 Haverford Road.
Police reported a damaged window suggesting an attempted break in. The burglar was unable to gain entry, according to the police report, and nothing was reported stolen. Police believe that the two incidents may be related.

Home Burglaries
Two homes in Wynnewood were burglarized in the past week, according to police reports.
The first instance occurred sometime between Monday, Sept. 13 and Wednesday, Sept. 15, according to the police. Residents of a house on the 200 block of Tomkenn Road in were away on vacation, and when a maid came to clean the house on Wednesday she said the front doors were open and items missing, according to the police report. The burglar is believed to have entered through an unlocked kitchen window, according to police. Taken were a 50-inch Panasonic TV and a phone.
The second burglary occurred on the 1300 block of Williams Road on Thursday, Sept. 16, according to police. The resident reported that she left to run errands around 10 a.m. and upon returning to the house at 1 p.m. found several items missing. The police report indicates that some light ransacking of the house occurred and a Macbook, a Seico watch and jewelry were taken. The burglar is believed to have forced entry through a door, according to police.
Retail Theft
A man entered Rite Aid in Ardmore on Sept. 13 around noon, according to police reports, and proceeded to try to conceal and leave with a phone kit valued at $50. The man was caught and confronted by Rite Aid employees, but after attempting to escort the suspect back into the building, he ran, according to the police report. The suspect is a white male, 25-30 years old and about six feet tall, according to the report.
Theft From Car
On Wednesday, Sept. 15, a homeowner of a house on the unit block of Overbrook Parkway in Wynnewood went out to get something from his car, and noticed papers scattered and items missing, according to police reports. The car was left unlocked overnight. Taken were a GPS and change from the car, according to the police.
Theft at Hospital
A woman working at Lankenau Hospital reported the theft of her wallet between 9 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, according to police reports. The hospital worker said she left her desk to attend a meeting, and when she got back she noticed her wallet was missing and suspected someone had gone through her desk. The wallet contained the woman's driver's license, credit cards and about $100 in cash, according to the police.
Bike Theft
Taken from School Lane in Ardmore on Friday, Sept. 17 was a charcoal gray, Mongoose mountain bike valued at $65, according to police reports. The owner was visiting friends and left the bike unsecured in the front lawn. The bike was missing when the owner returned, according to police.
